Local Port Error: The requested resource is in use

If you are installing the PDF2XL Enterprise edition, you may come across the Local Port Error " The requested resource is in use". 

Clicking the " OK" button will result in the installation rolling back.

This issue occurs if you've previously had a copy of PDF2XL Enterprise (full or trial) installed in your machine and it is related to the CogniView Printer.

The solution is simple:

  1. Go into your Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  2. Locate the Cogniview Printer
  3. Right-click and remove it

You should be able to complete your install without any trouble once this is done.
