Microsoft Visual Basic: Runtime Error ‘1004’
- When filtered data is copied and then pasted into MS Office Excel workbook
- A range value is set programmatically with a collection of large string
- Application or object defined error
- Conflict with other programs while opening VBA Excel file
- Corrupt desktop icon for MS Excel
- Solution 1
- Make sure the security is set in Excel by going to Tools > Macro > Security and selecting the “Trusted Publishers” tab.
- Place a checkmark next to “Trust Access to Visual Basic Project”. (steps may vary slightly from one Excel version to another)
- Solution 2
- Stop all the programs that are running currently through Task manager
- Go the start menu and you will find control panel over there
- Locate Add/ remove programs
- Look for ‘Microsoft Works’ and remove it
- Solution 3
- Right click on the start menu
- Access Windows Explorer
- Open the directory – C:\Program Files\MSOffice\Office\XLSTART
- Find and delete the file “GWXL97.XLA”
- Close explorer and open Excel
Runtime Error 1004 is something that affects Excel, specifically, and it's not exactly a PDF2XL problem. We try to develop the software to be able to circumvent the issue, but we are not able to correct it100% of the time.
